Portfolio
A good wedding photographer should always have a portfolio that ends up doing the speaking. You should cautiously study all of their photos to see the caliber of each and every one. Ask to look through a wide selection of different snapshots, simply because some photographers may well have got a professional picture created which they will end up showing you.
Equipment
Its not just the photographer that has to be a good; they must also have the correct equipment and the latest equipment. Check to see what models they have, because you do not want to end up having your photos taken with a disposable camera.

When you go for for a line of work an employer invariably wants to see at least two good references, the same should enforce for a wedding. It is a once in a lifetime event, so ask the wedding photographer to supply at least two good references. Or alternatively ask for the phone number of the references yourself and give them a call to talk over what the lensman was like and how the images were.
